 The Cartwright Companies originated back in 1934 during the Great Depression, when founders William, Sr. and Jesse Cartwright started a local moving services company with a single truck and the determination to succeed. The company then grew to a large van line that focused on hauling military freight. In the late 60s and early 70s, Cartwright acquired the rights to an international freight forwarding company and became Cartwright International Van Lines. Years later, in the mid-1980s, the van lines were sold to focus on international forwarding of freight and household goods.
Through the years the focus has always been on quality service delivered with honesty and integrity. We currently relocate families and freight all over the globe. Annually, we move thousands of military members' belongings every year, including the belongings of more than 1,000 Department of State employees and high-ranking officials. In 2005, Mike Cartwright, after completing his 45th year of active service with the company, assumed the role of CEO, and the daily operations of the company were transitioned to the third generation of family leadership.
