Occasionally items may be damaged during the move process. That's why Cartwright offers insurance protection through a third-party insurance broker. It's moving coverage that allows us to resolve the situation quickly, keeping you happy with our moving services during your relocation.

Cartwright offers you total peace of mind with Travel Guard Insurance (TGI), the most comprehensive protection plan in the industry. TGI covers the cost to repair or replace, whichever is less, any household item that is damaged, lost or destroyed.
Extra Care For Your Valuables
Cartwright's liability for high-value items is limited to $100 per pound. But for items that exceed that in value, Cartwright offers a simple, stress-free plan of protection.
We can help you prepare an inventory with our inventory form for your belongings valued over $100 per pound. Present it to us prior to packing, and Cartwright will provide you TGI protection for the full value of the item, subject to the declared value of the entire shipment.
Basic Liability Protection for Household Moving
We also offer Basic Liability Protection, which provides repair or replacement up to a maximum of $0.60 per pound per article should your goods get damaged or lost. Keep in mind, though, when it comes to protecting your belongings, one size does not fit all. The level of protection you need may be greater than minimum levels based on your total shipment weight. Be sure to consider high-value items such as artwork, electronic equipment, crystal and porcelain collectibles. Basic Liability Protection is free of charge with your move, but you must request this moving coverage in writing.

Understanding the Difference TGI Can Make
Let's say you bought your new television for $1,500, and it weighs 100 pounds. With TGI, if the television is damaged beyond repair, you receive full replacement value; whereas with Basic coverage, your coverage is limited to $0.60 cents per pound of the item.

TGI $1,500.00 (full replacement value)
Basic $60.00 (= 100 lbs x $0.60 per pound)

Filing a Claim for Loss or Damages
While we strive for perfection on every move, occasionally mishaps do occur. If you need to file a claim for damages, please accept our apologies for your inconvenience and allow us to assist you.
Your Move Coordinator will remain your point of contact.
Through our claims prevention methods, we can accurately determine the most common causes of damage and loss and develop solutions to prevent their occurrence even more than ever before. We provide our customers with many forms of protection for their belongings as part of our relocation services, including varying coverage options.
We take the utmost care when handling your shipment during a relocation, from packing and loading to transportation and unloading - every aspect of the move considers the safety and security of your belongings. Our skilled movers and highly-trained drivers work to prevent any damage or loss to your belongings.
To protect your assets should your belongings incur damage, coverage options are available. We offer basic liability coverage at no extra charge to you. This is the bare minimum for coverage, so we recommend opting for full valuation coverage for your possessions. With full valuation coverage, your belongings will be replaced or repaired for their full value.
In the unlikely event that damage does occur, Cartwright makes the process of resolving claims easy through quick claim filing. Customers can easily file claims on-line or request a paper copy of a claim form that will be sent via U.S. mail. Cartwright works to resolve claims expeditiously by offering cash settlements or repairs.
